A gift for =phlum. Because I wanted to practice my animation, and I thought that Luggage is just too awesome not to attempt at least once.
If you don't know, this is the Luggage from 'The Colour of Magic' which I'm reading (between books for school) on =phlum's recommendation. It's a big box full of gold. On legs. What's not to love about it?!
I added the emotes later in the process, as it was originally just going to be Luggage running and running and running... I like it better this way, though!
Overall I'm quite happy with this one. Apart from maybe the legs, because I had no idea how to animate running. And the thought of pixelling lots of tiny feet terrified me slightly, so I just did a mass of blobs. Feedback is welcome!
Also, I made the emotes at night without the internet (my parents turn everything - including the modem - off at night) so I couldn't reference any pictures of Flump for the colours. And a guide for how to make him was posted the day after. Oh well. Close enough.
P.S. I know I said I wouldn't do any more today because I slacked on school work yesterday. But I finished it this morning in bed. Therefore I wasn't up. Therefore my Sunday hadn't officially started... I'm also working on an avatar request for ~IcEcReAm-LeViAtHaN. I'll try to get that done as soon as possible.
It still blows my mind that you can make these (I guess in my head I thought it may have been robots that create pixel art)! And though I'm no expert, this looks pretty complex to me, what with the emoticons, the chest-lid and the 'blobs'! I wish I had more knowledge of this field so I could give you more interesting feedback - but for now, just know that I love it!
It's okay, I understand!! I've been battling my inbox monster for quite a while, but there seems to be no progress either way. It's actually a lot simpler than it looks! And I know that because I've only had a clue about it for all of... 3 weeks. Though this was complicated in terms of trying to time everything to move together in a way that was even remotely convincing. And the blobs were absolutely evil! Thank you very much!
*Shifts slowly off to the side to avoid being charged by the luggage* "I think... I'm just gonna go stand over there." *Points off into the distance and legs it*
Awesome work, I can see what you mean about the feet/blobs, but I honestly can't think of any other way to do it, and it looks perfectly fine as is
